Office Business Centers for Large Corporations

As we promote and improve our office business center (OBC), we encounter a fundamental misunderstanding about our industry's typical clientele. Many think we offer affordable services for entrepreneurs and small business owners, and neglect some of the key advantages we provide for large corporations.

Large corporations benefit from three unique advantages available in our shared office space:

1) Executive phone numbers can be established using the company's main phone number and an extension, so the location of the employee is indistinguishable from others working at the organization's headquarters. This capability opens a new labor pool, facilitates expansion and increases customer satisfaction.

2) Companies renovating current commercial space can minimize the effects of the dislocation by moving employees temporarily into a new location, ready for business on day one.

Corporate Collaboration

Your place or mine? Possibly, the answer is neither!

Thomas L. Friedman in his national bestseller, The World Is Flat, has this to say about corporate collaboration:

"The best companies are the best collaborators. In the flat world, more and more business will be done through collaborations within and between companies, for a very simple reason: The next layers of value creation -- whether in technology, marketing, biomedicine or manufacturing -- are becoming so complex that no single firm or department is going to be able to master them alone."

No sooner did I dig up the above quote than I picked up the WSJ, dated July 22, 2008, page B4.
