Video Conferencing
Why do it?
CONVENIENCE
Better usage of company time – Time is not wasted traveling and
waiting in airports.
COST EFFECTIVE
Less expensive than airfare and hotel costs, especially if multiple people
are involved.
Logistics
HOW IS IT DONE
The videoconference is scheduled at our site and all remote sites. Testing
is done prior to the actual videoconference. Bridging is arranged if there
are multiple remote locations. Both ISDN and IP connections are available.
CANCELLATION
Conferences should start on time. Users can incur additional charges if
late. Cancellation less than 24 hours can result in full charges.
TESTING
Normal procedure requires a test prior to the videoconferencing to ensure
that there are no equipment compatibility or transmitting issues. However,
there is always a slight possibility that transmission can fail.
TIMING
Videoconferences can be arranged to take
place outside of normal business hours to accommodate remote locations
in different time zones.
Costs
PER HOUR CHARGES
From $150 to $200 per hour
CALL INITIATION CHARGES
Nationally up to $75 per hour
ROOM CHARGES
May exist if conference room is used for extended periods either before
or after the videoconference.
BRIDGING
If more than two locations are involved in the videoconference, bridging
is required to facilitate the transmission. Charges will vary depending
on the locations.
Equipment
State-of-the-art polycam HD equipment with both IP and ISDN capability.
